fcitx-pinyin software package provides Flexible Input Method Framework - classic Pinyin engine, you can install in your Ubuntu 17.04 (Zesty Zapus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install fcitx-pinyin
fcitx-pinyin is installed in your system.
Make ensure the fcitx-pinyin package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep fcitx-pinyin *
You will get with fcitx-pinyin package name, version, architecture and description in a table
